After 37 years of building and development, Binh Duong Trade and Industry sector has always completed its entrusted tasks. With the gigantic achievements, the provincial Trade and Industry sector was granted the second class Labor Order on Sept. 28, 2002 and today the sector receives the first class Labor Order. At a production line of Finecs Company in VSIP.  A sustainable growth in industryOver the past 5 years, the provincial Trade and Industry sector has excelled its task of economic recovery and production and business development, contributing to the provincial transfer of economic structure in the trend of industry-service-agriculture at the rate of 65.5%-30%-4.5%, respectively. At present, Binh Duong has had 28 industrial parks, 8 industrial compounds with the total area of 8,958.4ha and 1 industry-service-urban complex occupying the area of 4,196ha. As of the end of 2013, Binh Duong lured 15,050 domestic businesses with the total investment capital of VND117,413bil and 2,209 foreign enterprises with the total capital of US$18.7bil.The local trade and industry sector has launched and well implemented measures to spur production, business, industrial development, trade promotion and industrial promotion policies, contributing to develop local socio-economy. Over the past 5 years, the provincial department of Trade and Industry has reached 100% of its key plans and projects. Till 2013 the sector won VND162,177.7bil in industrial production value from VND88,077bil in 2009. Meanwhile, local export turnover reached US$6,445mil in 2009 and won $14,443.2mil in 2013, a double increase from 2009 and a 15.7% rise from 2012.Say no to price fever Over the past 5 years, the provincial trade and industry sector has gained many highlighted achievements in developing infrastructure facility and managing commercial operation. The sector obtained VND89,544.3bil in retail and service turnover in 2013, a double rise from 2009 and a 24.3% increase from 2012.On planning on the provincial trade development till 2020 and vision to 2030, planning on petrol network development for the period of 2010-2020, planning on market-supermarket and trade center network for the 2010-2020 period and so on set out the provincial People's Committee, the sector has over the past 5 years set out many measures to urge and lure investment projects from economic sectors as well as spur investors to early launch the approved projects. Until now, the entire province has had 95 markets, 11 supermarkets and 5 trade centers.Accordingly, in the period of 2007-2013, the province newly built 31 markets, upgraded 16 markets, newly built 8 supermarkets and 3 trade centers. System of retail shops, showrooms, supermarkets has been developed and showed their effective operation.In order to implement the work on eradicating unprompted markets, maintaining trade order and civilization in the province, the department has steered economic units across localities to maintain business order, eradicate 98 unprompted markets and so on.On every Tet holiday, the department in cooperation with People's Committee at all levels arranges business locations for small traders, meeting local people's demand on shopping and ensuring order and safety in business, often reminds small traders and units to spur the work on fire fighting and prevention at markets, supermarkets, trade centers in a bid to assure safety in asset and life of people. Especially, implementing the Government and the provincial People's Committee's instructions on price stability, social welfare on Tet holiday, the department suggested the provincial People's Committee to set up the market management team and issue regulation of operation for the team. Annually, the department suggests the local administration to build plans on essential goods reserve to stabilize the market price. Aside from supportive measures of instructions, policies, telecommunication and so on, the department asks the local administration to offer preferential loans for businesses. As a result, many businesses have joined in reserving essential items to cater for people. Upholding the done achievements during the past 37 years and 5 years of effort, the local trade and industry sector along with the provincial administration and people have made the effort to hasten growth pace of industrial production value and trade and service, positively build Binh Duong into a central-run city and one of the most advanced urban areas in Vietnam by 2020.
