  Patients enjoy treatment at the provincial Traditional Medicine Hospital.

In order to meet local residents’ demand on health check-up and treatment, the provincial network’s health check up and treatment by the traditional medicine method has been reinforced. The province now has a 150-bed traditional medicine hospital, ward of traditional medicine at the provincial General Hospital and the provincial Care Rehabilitation Hospital and clinics.

 

89 out of 91 medical stations at all levels have had cadres relating to traditional medicine. The entire province now has 183 private workshops of traditional medicine. Until now, the whole province has 4 companies specializing in traditional medicine.

 

Presently, apart from the provincial Society of Traditional Medicine, the traditional medicine society at districts and towns has been set up at all localities with 129 sub-societies and 499 members.

 

Binh Duong Society of Laser Medicine has gathered 470 members and established 7 affiliates throughout districts, towns. Over the past time, the provincial Traditional Medicine Hospital, 6 general hospitals at district level and clinics as well as 89 out of 91 medical stations have launched application of laser treatment with remarkable results.

 

Beside health check up and treatment, development of medicinal herbs has been focused. Accordingly, the provincial Society of Oriental Medicine has planted and preserved genes of medicinal herbs at Phu Giao district. The whole province has developed 107 medicinal herb gardens.

 

Annually, the local Health Department assists costs to develop the medicinal herb gardens. In addition, the local health sector has mobilized households to grow and use medicinal herbs effectively. Doctor Quach Trung Nguyen, vice director of the provincial Traditional Medicine Hospital, said the hospital has over years produced as many as 35 products of traditional medicine in service for treatment at the hospital.

 

Du Ngoc Long, an official of the local Health Department assessed system of traditional medicine in the province has been developed constantly, improving healthcare for local people. Especially, the province has built 18 inter-communal clinics of traditional medicine and care rehabilitation with adequate equipments.
