Nearly 1,000 volunteers take part in “Green Summer” campaign

Provincial Youth Union and Student Association, on July 5, held a ceremony to launch the “Green Summer” campaign and the Journey “Youths in Binh Duong towards national sea and islands” 2018 at Binh Duong University.

Voluntary squads introduced at the ceremony

At the ceremony, the Steering Board of the campaign set up 20 voluntary squads with nearly 1,000 officials, young teachers, Youth Union members and students at province-based universities and colleges. They will get involved in significant activities in and out of the province such as visiting, presenting gifts to soldiers at Hon Khoai border post in the southernmost province of Ca Mau; taking part in civilized urban and new rural construction; realizing “paying debt of gratitude” activities; building gratitude and charity houses; carrying out “lighting rural road” works; offering gifts to policy beneficiary families, children with difficult circumstances; providing free medical check-up, medicine for needy people…

On this occasion, Binh Duong University donated 1 house of compassion worth VND50million to the Fatherland Front Committee of Nam Can district in Ca Mau province. Thu Dau Mot University offered a playground worth VND50million to the Fatherland Front Committee of Phu Quy island in the central province of Binh Thuan. Binh Duong Medical College presented 100 medicine parts worth VND20million to the Fatherland Front Committee of Nam Can district. Hoa Lam Phat Company and a group of integration and start-up business skills donated a gratitude house worth VND30million and 10 gifts worth VND10million to soldiers at Hon Khoai island in Ca Mau province.

After the ceremony, the local Youth Union members delivered propaganda leaflets; made environmental hygiene on streets around Binh Duong University and among others.
