New vitality on Bau Bang homeland

Bau Bang district officially worked on April 1, 2014. After three years of establishment, the district has reaped remarkable achievements with stable socio-economic development and national defence-security maintained.

As of late 2016, Bau Bang district absorbed 108 domestic and FDI projects with a total registered capital of US$83.5million and nearly VND9.7trillion. The figure has brought the total number of domestic and FDI projects to 481 with a total registered capital of more than US$24.5trillion and US$1.3billion. In 2016 alone, the district’s industrial production value surged more than 15%; total retail sales of commodities and services at more than 22%.

Bau Bang industrial park, a new motivation for the district to develop

Along with vigorous development in terms of industry and trade-services, agricultural production still holds an important role in economic development of the district. The district has concentrated on hi-tech agricultural production and attached special importance to sci-tech transfer among farmers. In addition, the district has boosted mobilization of establishing cooperatives, cooperative groups in areas with new rural construction; continued creating favorable conditions for new rural communes to foster collective economic models…So far, the whole district has had a total of 5 cooperatives with 37 members and initial capital of VND21.7billion; 10 cooperative groups with 106 members and initial capital of more than VND8billion mainly operating in the field of agricultural production.

The movement of “new rural construction” has also been promoted in the district. So far, there have been 5 out of 7 communes recognized as new rural ones. It is expected that the remaining two communes will reach criteria of the new rural construction program in 2017.

Together with economic development, the district has also continued paying attention to socio-cultural development. The district now has 31 schools, including 15 national standard ones; 100% of health stations built solidly and doctorized; 5 out of 7 communes with national standards in healthcare…

The district has also paid attention to Party building. The local Party organizations and authorities at all levels have applied the renewal policy of the Party. Especially, the campaign of studying and following Uncle Ho’s teachings under the Politburo’s Directive No.03 and Directive No.05 in the district has also upheld its efficiency. The whole district has till now implemented 62 models following Uncle Ho’s teachings.

Nguyen Huu Chi, Secretary of Bau Bang district’s Party Committee said that after three years of establishment, the district’s socio-economic development has obtained considerable achievements. The district’s socio-political mass organizations at all levels have continued being strengthened at locals’ aspirations and needs. Achievements done over the past time plus the set targets will be a solid foundation for the district to successfully carry out the Resolution of the 11^th local Party congress for the 2015-2020 tenure; bolster the local cause of industrialization, modernization towards comprehensive growth so that the district will soon become an industrial-urban hub of the province. 

Noticeably, the district is striving to get 2 major targets till 2020. They are to become an industrial-urban hub in the northern region of the province and win the title of “Labor Hero in the renewal period”.
