Outstanding farmers honored

On the evening of September 20, provincial Farmers’ Association held a festival honoring outstanding farmers and introducing typical agricultural products in 2019. The event was attended by Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee.

During the 2016-2019 period, the whole province had a total of 31,901 farming households winning the title of good farmer at all levels or 85.11% of total households registering to take part in the emulation movement of “good farmer in production and business”. Through the emulation movement, there were many farmers with large-scale models with the annual income of VND100million to tens of billion of dong. The number of the local farming households with the annual income of more than VND200million was a threefold increase compared to the 2014-2016 period. Whilst, there was a fivefold increase in the number of the local farming households with the annual income of more than VND1billion.

The festival will last until September 27 with more than 200 booths from farmers’ associations, industries’ associations, agricultural cooperatives and enterprises in the province together with units from Binh Phuoc, HCM city, Dong Nai, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Tay Ninh, Long An…A wide range of agricultural products are on display at the festival.

On this occasion, provincial People’s Committee awarded the certificates of merit to 150 outstanding farmers in 2019, presented the best farmer awards 2019 to 10 individuals.
