Planning work must take one step ahead, creating breakthroughs in development

Early March 2, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired an online national conference with ministries, sectors, 63 provinces and cities on speeding up the planning work, along with consultation on orientations for the national master plan for 2021-2030 with a vision towards 2050 in Ha Noi.

Also attending the event were Deputy Prime Ministers: Pham Binh Minh, Le Minh Khai, Vu Duc Dam, Le Van Thanh; leaders of ministries, sectors and central agencies. In Binh Duong, there were Nguyen Hoang Thao, Permanent Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee; Vo Van Minh, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People's Committee; leaders of departments and localities.

Speaking at the the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stated that although a number of things were accomplished over the past time, the planning work for the 2021-2030 period was still slow compared to requirements and regulations. It only met about 10% of the national master plan requirement. The Prime Minister emphasized that the planning work must take one step ahead, being close to reality, feasible, bringing into play its distinct potentials, outstanding opportunities, and competitive advantages of fields that need planning, pointing out obstacles for change, creating favorable conditions for the implementation of development breakthroughs.

To speed up the progress and improve the quality of planning, leaders of ministries, sectors and localities focus on reporting and discussing the real situation of planning work; speeding up planning progress; exchanging and giving opinions on orientations for the national master plan for 2021-2030 with a vision towards 2050. They need to evaluate and propose to remove obstacles problems in planning-related regulations; review and commit to implementing the progress of building, assessment and ratification of planning schemes to enhance transparency, step up inspections and supervisions, thereby creating an obvious change in the building, assessment and ratification of planning schemes in the coming time.
