PM examines Hau Giang’s socio-economic development

At the meeting, the PM expressed his delight at the province’s economic progress, becoming one of the leading localities in the region in building new-style rural areas.

The PM also highlighted limitations, such as the scarcity of qualified labourers, limited technical infrastructure and lack of science and technology in production.

He advised the province to take advantage of its strengths in agriculture and livestock breeding by innovating farming techniques to increase income for farmers and develop irrigation systems.

The province’s Party Committee Secretary Huynh Minh Chac said Hau Giang has completed the Party Congresses at the grassroots levels for 2015-2017 with 22.5% new members.

The province has completed 17 of the 19 criteria for socio-economic development from 2011-2015 and intends to achieve the two remaining criteria this year, Chac said.
