Power thrift contributes to fight against climate change

In the event of Earth Hour Vietnam 2010, EVN joins in the campaign as a main sponsor and one of the campaign’s goodwill ambassadors. Binh Duong Newspaper had an interview with Le Minh Quoc Viet, director of Binh Duong Electricity to talk about preparation of the Earth Hour Vietnam 2010.

Binh Duong Electricity has cooperated with the local department of Industry and Trade to launch the preparation for the campaign.

In terms of propagation, the local department of Industry and Trade hosted a meeting with the local department of Information – Communication, Binh Duong Newspaper, and BTV to conduct the event effectively. Accordingly, the relevant units will disseminate the campaign’s activity on mass media. Right in the time of the event, the local electricity will report result of power thrift.

Binh Duong Electricity alone, its directorate and trade union ask its affiliates to cooperate with all levels to propagate content and significance of the event, mobilize everyone to join the campaign, turn off lights at offices and so on.

How many units will join in the event?

Joining in the ‘Earth Hour’ 2010, aside from People’s Committee at all levels registering to turn off their lights, other units of the local Departments of Industry and Trade, Science-Technology, Agriculture and Rural Development Public Security and among others registered to join in the event. Besides, the local electricity received response documents from localities, sectors.

As a main sponsor, what wish does local electricity want on the occasion?

The sector wishes local people and companies to join in the event positively to contribute to save money and raise businesses’ competition.

What ideas do you want to send to power users on the event?

Firstly, I want to thank Binh Duong Newspaper because through the newspaper I can send my best wishes to clients. And, I urge everyone to join in the event not only by simple deed of turning off lights within one hour but fighting against climate change.
