To complete projects in 2014 and focus on site clearance and compensation and investment capital, Binh Duong has concentrated on hastening progress of implementing and improving quality of key works in this year.

Work on upgrading and extending 7A road in Ben Cat town.

Hastening progress of works

In order to spur progress of key works, relevant agencies and localities have focused strongly on compensation and site clearance. Until now, some key works such as Ong Co Bridge, Thoi An Bridge, work of upgrading and extending 7A road, DT744 road have been in a slow progress, owing to some shortcomings of site clearance and compensation as well as capital source.

Ong Co Bridge and Thoi An Bridge works have faced some difficulties after over one year of launching. Aside from tardiness on capital disbursement, adjustment of design project of Thoi An Bridge and problems of site clearance and compensation have made these projects be slow in progress.

Le Van Dan, site manager of Ong Co Bridge project said “We have focused on machine and equipment and are in need of allocation of capital source, we pledge to complete the work’s progress”.

It is known that capital disbursement plan 2014 for Ong Co Bridge work is at VND50bil, of which VND49.920bil disbursed already. It is expected that demand on capital in need of supplement in this year is at VND58bil. Of this, VND54.5bil is for construction, VND1bil for site clearance and VND2.5bil for project management and other expenses.

To complete timely key works, the provincial People’s Committee has drastically steered site clearance and compensation. At the past inspection visit to key works, Tran Van Nam, vice chairman of the provincial People’s Committee steered “Key works have played an important role in developing Binh Duong provincial socio-economic development. The provincial department of Planning and Investment must set out measures to add capital source for site clearance and compensation”.

Meanwhile, DT 744 road project brings a very important significance in linking with inter-district and inter-provincial traffic network, creating local economic development but its progress is under tardiness, due to problems of site clearance and compensation. The 32km long DT744 road’s first 12km has been thus far completed. However, some households in Dau Tieng district have been in tardiness of site handover. Pham Ngoc Son, director of the provincial Construction Investment project management board said “We will hand site over contractors for the sake of soon completion” Under the instruction of the provincial People’s Committee Tran Van Nam, these works will must be completed in this year.

Ensuring quality

Quality of works affects directly life safety, efficiency and sustainable development of localities. Therefore, along with hastening progress of works, Binh Duong provincial administration has paid much attention to quality of works. Nguyen Vinh Toan, head of technical department of the provincial Construction Investment project management board said “As an investor, we will keep in touch with all relevant units to monitor the work’s progress constantly and ensure quality of the work”.

Dan added that “In order to ensure quality of works, we have focused on machine and equipment, meeting technical requirements and ensuring project implementation in line with design and regulation. In addition, we have enough skilled employees to ensure quality of works”.
