Province collects over 960 electronic devices

Early July 15, provincial Steering Committee for implementing the plan of volunteer youth teams participating in community digital transformation (CDS) (briefly called provincial Steering Committee) held a mid-year conference to review its activities in the first six months of 2024. The meeting was attended by Nguyen Loc Ha, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee and Vice Chairman of provincial People's Committee.

In the first half of 2024, members of the volunteer youth teams involved in CDS across the province disseminated, guided, raising public awareness of  using online public services; instructed people on installing, using digital platforms and technology applications. Additionally, nine district-level organizing boards for CDS volunteer youth teams launched a campaign to collect smart electronic devices for disadvantaged people to participate in CDS. As of June 30, the province collected 964 devices, reaching 45% of the annual target.

At the conference, provincial Steering Committee outlined activities for the second half of 2024, including further giving training for volunteer youth teams involved in CDS; further guiding residents and businesses on installing and using digital platforms; collecting electronic devices to donate to disadvantaged people.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Ha urged district-level organizing boards to focus on completing their organizational structure, ensuring consistency in leadership and direction; continued donating electronic devices and educating people of CDS. He also called on departments, agencies and local authorities to set up plans in line with provincial guidelines.

*On the same day, provincial Steering Committee, in collaboration with the organizing board for CDS volunteer youth teams in Tan Uyen city, organized a program to donate electronic devices to disadvantaged people.

It is known that as part of the campaign to collect smart electronic devices and donate them to disadvantaged residents for CDS, Tan Uyen city’s organizing board collected 379 phones, surpassing the annual target. At the conference, 110 phones were donated to disadvantaged residents. The remaining devices will be distributed to residents by the communes and wards in the city.

On this occasion, Tan Uyen Telecommunications Center supported a work on “Free Mobile SIMs for residents participating in CDS”, providing 379 SIM cards and one month of free internet access, with a total value of VND 40 million.
