Joy in new houses

Update: 27-11-2024 | 13:30:59

In 2024, provincial Department of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs (DoLISA) has collaborated with localities and enterprises to construct and renovate 45 houses for the local revolutionary contributors. As the Lunar New Year of 2025 approaches, many families are brimming with happiness, ready to celebrate the New Year in their newly built houses, filled with affectionateness.

Happiness

According to Hoang Kim Ha, a 1/4 veteran residing in My Phuoc ward’s quarter 1 in Ben Cat city, the Lunar New Year of 2025 will be her "warmest and happiest Tet after 12 years of welcoming spring in a rental house”. In her new house—over 50 square meters with a living room, bedroom and kitchen—built with support from local authorities and businesses, she couldn’t contain her joy. “For me, having a house like this is already more than enough happiness. I couldn’t ask for anything more”, Mrs. Ha shared emotionally.

Provincial DoLISA collaborates with local authorities and businesses to build a house for Pham Thi Xiem in Ben Cat city’s Phu An commune

On the year-end days, the family of Pham Thi Xiem, a revolutionary contributor residing in Phu An commune’s An Thuan hamlet in Ben Cat city is filled with joy. The local authorities have recently organized a ceremony to present her with a gratitude house.

Pham Van Hai, the eldest son who has cared for his mother for many years shared: “My mother is now over 90 and her health is frail. Since hearing the news that the local authorities would build her a house, she’s been overjoyed. During the construction process of the house, she would often set up a chair to watch workers and occasionally ask when the house would be finished. She asked and then smiled which was so touching. In recent days, as children and grandchildren have been buying plants and planting flowers in the yard to prepare for Tet, she’s been even happier. For our family, the care and attention from the local authorities are more than enough; we couldn’t ask for anything more”.

For Nguyen Thi Ut (62 years old, daughter of a martyr) from Phu Tho ward’s quarter 2 in Thu Dau Mot city, the July 27, 2024 celebration was an unforgettable time, brimming with joy as she moved into her long-dreamed-of new home. Mrs. Ut shared that eight years ago, her husband passed away after a severe illness, leaving the burden of the family solely on her shoulders. She thought she would never have a proper home in her twilight years as her children were still struggling. However, an indescribable happiness came to her family when the local authorities built her a house. “The local authorities have cared for us so well, from the house, gifts, to providing a health insurance card. Not long ago, I had a serious accident on my way to work. Without the health insurance card, I wouldn’t have been able to make it through. Since officially moving into the new house, I’ve felt a great sense of relief, no longer burdened by as many worries as before. This year, I’m even happier to celebrate Tet in this new home”, Mrs. Ut said with a smile.

In addition to fully implementing policies for revolutionary contributors as stipulated by regulations, provincial DoLISA has collaborated with local agencies, units and businesses to provide exemplary care for heroic Vietnamese mothers, wounded soldiers and martyrs; organize annual tours for revolutionary contributors, well performing the work of "paying debt of gratitude”. Especially, the construction of housing for revolutionary contributors in the province is always concerned and supported by all-level authorities, units and businesses, in order to create a stable life, helping revolutionary contributors’ families get conditions to rise up.
