Trade unions and companies take good care of workers

As of now, trade unions at all levels in Binh Duong province have completed a review of the number of union members and workers who plan to return home for the Tet celebration with their families, as well as those who will remain in Binh Duong during the Lunar New Year 2025 holidays. Based on this information, plans are in place to provide proper care for the workers. In addition to support from local budgets and union funds, many businesses are also allocating billions of VND to organize activities aimed at caring for their workers.

Trade Union gives away train and bus tickets

In accordance with the guidance from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) and provincial leaders regarding support for workers during Tet, the Provincial Labor Confederation will allocate funds from the provincial Trade Union to provide 1,000 train tickets. These tickets will assist workers in celebrating Tet by traveling to their homes in the Central and Northern provinces. Departure time is from January 23 to 25, 2025 (24 to 26 of the 12th lunar month).

Leaders of the Provincial Labor Federation see off workers returning to their hometowns in the "Spring Bus" program on the occasion of the 2024 Lunar New Year.

To support workers in the southern provinces who wish to return home for the Tet celebration, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor is providing assistance to Binh Duong workers. They are offering 450 train tickets and 80 plane tickets to two airports: Vinh (in Nghe An) and Noi Bai airport (in Hanoi). The criteria for selecting recipients of the "Union Flight - Spring 2025" tickets mirror those for the spring train tickets. Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa (born in Thai Binh) has recently received a train ticket to return home for Tet, thanks to the Trade Union of Hai My Company Limited in Thuan An City. She expressed her joy by saying, “Everyone in the family is happy and counting down the days. As workers who have spent many years away from home in Binh Duong, we truly appreciate the thoughtful care from the provincial Trade Union and local government. This support gives poor families the opportunity to uplift themselves and continue with the work they have chosen.”

In addition to the careful organization of the "Spring Train" and "Spring Plane," unions at all levels in the province will utilize union funds to organize the "Spring Bus," which will bring tens of thousands of workers to various provinces and cities to celebrate Tet. Many local businesses also stepped in to support and transport workers during this festive season. Cultural, artistic, and entertainment programs for union members and workers during Tet will be thoughtfully coordinated by all levels of unions to ensure a meaningful experience...

This year, the plan to support workers during the Tet festival was initiated early in several localities. For example, in Tan Uyen City, the assessment of workers facing difficult circumstances and those remaining in the city to celebrate Tet has been completed. According to Mr. Le Minh Hoang, Vice President of the Tan Uyen City Labor Federation, "By conducting the assessment early, unions at all levels will be more proactive and able to provide better support to workers."

This year, the Executive Committee of the Enterprises’ Trade Union in Tan Uyen City has selected approximately 2,000 employees facing difficult circumstances to receive support. Each of these individuals will receive 1 million VND in cash from the city budget. Additionally, the Tan Uyen Labor Federation plans to use union funds to support 10,000 more workers, providing each with 1 million VND as well (including 700,000 VND in cash and 300,000 VND in gifts).

Meanwhile, a representative of the Thu Dau Mot City Labor Federation said that the city's Labor Federation will visit and give about 1,000 to 1,500 gifts to workers staying in the city during Tet celebration. Each gift is 1 million VND in cash (from the city budget); Thu Dau Mot City Labor Federation will also give away 2,700 gifts, each worth 700,000 VND in cash and 300,000 VND in cakes...

Enterprises reward money and give gold

So far, most enterprises in the region have made plans to take good care of their employees during Tet. Ms. Pham Thi Duyen, Vice President of the grassroots Trade Union at Apparel Far Eastern Co., Ltd. (located in VSIP Industrial Park, Thuan An City), which employs over 4,000 people, stated that, as in previous years, the company will continue to ensure that all employees receive their salaries and the 13th-month bonus; organizes a year-end party, accompanied by a cultural program, lucky draw with many valuable items such as motorbikes, televisions, refrigerators, etc. Ms. Pham Thi Duyen stated that every year, around December 15, the company organizes a labor conference to honor union members and workers with 15 to 20 years of service; each individual receives 1 tael of gold.

Every year, the "Union Tet Market" program is done by trade unions at all levels, providing support so that workers can shop for Tet commodities.

Mr. Le Van Bien, Chairman of the grassroots Trade Union of Response VN Company Limited (Tan Uyen City), shared: “At the end of the year, most employees are excited when the company secures numerous orders. This is a wonderful opportunity for all employees to enjoy stable jobs and a high income in 2025. From now until the Lunar New Year in 2025, the company has decided to let employees work overtime, allowing them to increase their earnings for the Tet celebrations. This year, employees will have a two-week break for Tet, starting from December 23. The 13th-month salary and bonuses are substantial, and if production and business targets are met by the end of the year, employees will receive additional bonuses”.

Regarding Tet care activities, Response VN Company Limited has planned to host a year-end party for all employees at a restaurant, along with a lucky draw program. Mr. Le Van Bien mentioned that every year, the lucky draw offers prizes such as motorbikes, televisions, and refrigerators. However, based on employee proposals, this year’s lucky draw during the year-end party will feature gold as prizes, with the highest award being 3 taels of gold, along with several other prizes worth 1 tael of gold each. Additionally, the company’s Trade Union plans to give gifts to all employees and visit 10 employees who are facing particularly challenging circumstances during Tet...
