Binh Duong province has made changes and improvements in the vocational training work and the national target program on employment creation…

Development of labor market

So far, Binh Duong province has generated jobs for nearly 700,000 laborers, including more than 570,000 immigrant ones. The annual labor recruitment demand of the province is between 40,000 and 50,000 laborers. Hence, it is very necessary for the province to draw immigrant laborers.

In a bid to redress the labor shortage, provincial People’s Committee approved a plan linking up with businesses, job centers and other localities to supply laborers at the local industries’ demand in 2007. So far, there have been 30 localities signing deals on labor supply with Binh Duong. The cooperation plan has worked effectively with more than 10,000 immigrant laborers taking jobs in Binh Duong, contributing to meeting businesses’ labor demand.

In 2008, Binh Duong also opened the job transaction floor, which is organized every one month. The local transaction floor has worked effectively and actually acted as a bridge between recruiters and laborers, contributing to creating stable jobs for laborers.

Linking up with businesses

Province-based vocational training facilities have implemented many training programs in association with businesses. Every year, they give vocational training to 1,230 laborers at businesses’ demand in skills of woodwork processing, forklift truck driving, railway…Most students at these facilities have sought jobs after graduation and been highly appreciated by businesses in professional ability.

Over the past time, Binh Duong also paid more attention to instructing its vocational training facilities to give training at businesses and labor market’s requirements; set up job centers and cooperate with businesses; organize seminars entitled “Vocational training at businesses and labor market’s requirements”. Through the seminars, provincial Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs has created a bridge between businesses and vocational training facilities for better results.

Most students who graduated from the Vietnam-Singapore Vocational College, the Southern Vocational College for Technology, Agriculture and Forestry, Binh Duong Vocational Junior College…have found jobs, 80% of whom have worked in industrial parks and been highly appreciated for professional competence.

Nguyen Phung Trung, deputy director of provincial Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs said: “Under the draft political report of the 9th provincial Party Congress for 2010 and 2015 tenure, Binh Duong will strive to generate new jobs for around 44,000 laborers every year. To achieve the target, Binh Duong has taken several basic measures, including realizing a vocational training plan for rural laborers towards 2020 under the Government PM’s Decision No.1956/QD-TTg; strengthening vocational consultancy for laborers, especially rural ones; boosting vocational training socialization; raise the quality of the vocational training facilities…
