Province reaches positive results in socio-economic development in first 2 months

Since early this year, provincial People’s Committee has conducted sectors, authorities at all levels and localities to effectively implement solutions on socio-economic development, ensuring national defence-security. Upon this, the province’s fields continued gaining stable growth.

Trade surplus at US$1.1billion

In the first two months of 2020, the province’s index of industrial production (IIP) surged 5.95%. The province’s total retail sales revenue of commodities and services was more than VND41.65trillion, up 12.5%. The province’s export value was more than US$3.7billion, up 4.2% compared to the same period last year while import value was more than US$2.6billion, up 5.5% against the corresponding period last year. The province’s trade surplus reached US$1.1billion.

The province also lured VND4.37trillion in domestic capital, US$184.7million in FDI capital; gained more than VND12.55trillion in State budget collection, up 23% against the same period last year. In addition, the province took good care of policy beneficiaries, poor people and workers on the last Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday with total cost of more than VND537billion, up 7.7% compared to the Tet holiday of 2019.

Amid complicated development of Covid-19, provincial People’s Committee has also implemented methods to prevent the deadly epidemic disease under the instruction of the Prime Minister, the Minister of Health, central agencies and provincial Party Committee…But, some enterprises have faced obstacles in production and business, due to the impacts of the deadly epidemic disease.

In March, the province will further carry out a plan concretizing the Government’s Resolution No.01/NQ-CP, Resolution No.02/NQ-CP dated January 1, 2019; be proactive to assess the impacts of Covid-19 for appropriate solutions, aiming to well ensure 2020’s targets. The province will also continue realizing a price stabilization plan for essential commodities to combat Covid-19; ensure supply of power at people’s demand for daily life, production-business…

Striving to well fulfill year’s plan

Based on the Government’s Resolution No.01/NQ-CP dated January 1, 2020 and provincial People’s Council’s Resolution No.52/NQ-HDND dated December 12, 2019 on socio-economic development plan for 2020, provincial People’s Committee, on January 20, issued the Plan No.266/KH-UBND on realizing major tasks for socio-economic development plan, State budget estimates for 2020.

Accordingly, the province will focus on 8 groups of measures, including attaching special importance to strengthening macroeconomics, curbing inflation, creating the foundation for sustainable and fast development. Provincial People’s Committee has also set 31 major targets in 2020, comprising of surging 8.6%-8.8% in total GRDP value; reaching the growth of 9.55%, 10.1%, 10.9%, 19.9%, 15% in IIP, service value, total retail sales revenue of commodities-services, export turnover, respectively; gaining VND62.2trillion in State budget collection…

The province will boost restructuring of the local economy in association with improving growth models, more effectively enhancing productivity, competitiveness…; mobilize all resources for socio-economic infrastructure development; give priority to key projects for breakthrough and pervasion. The province’s total capital for social development this year is expected to account for 35% of the local GRDP, a year-on-year increase of 15.5%. The province’s FDI attraction is also expected to achieve more than US$1.4billion. In addition, the province will continue removing obstacles, strongly improving the local investment climate, competitive capacity.

Along with economic development, the province will attach special importance to creating harmonious development in socio-cultural fields, ceaselessly enhance the spiritual and material lives of people. This year, the province will strive to reduce the rate of poor households to below 1% under the local multidimensional poverty measurement; effectively mobilize all resources to well realize the national target program on sustainable poverty reduction, “paying debt of gratitude” policies; well carry out public healthcare; seriously and drastically take measures against Covid-19; hasten the progress of construction of provincial General Hospital with 1,500 beds…

The province will also continue make investment in terms of material facilities, human resources for education-training; strive to reach 74.4% of public schools meeting national standards; promote socialization in education-training; generate jobs for 45,000 laborers; reach 80% of laborers trained…
