On the afternoon of January 4, Phu Cuong Diocese held a ceremony to celebrate Bishop Peter Tran Dinh Tu's 25th anniversary as Bishop.
The event was attended by Nguyen Minh Triet, former State President; Nguyen Van Loc, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of provincial People's Council; Bui Thanh Nhan, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission; Nguyen Loc Ha, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice-Chairman of provincial People's Committee; leaders of Tay Ninh, Binh Phuoc provinces and Ho Chi Minh city.
Bishop Peter Tran Dinh Tu was born in 1937, former Bishop of Phu Cuong Diocese. He was officially ordained a Bishop on January 6, 1999 and officially assumed the position of Bishop of Phu Cuong Diocese from January 26, 1999. He retired on June 2012. Bishop Peter Tran Dinh Tu worked as a priest for 59 years, including 25 years working as a Bishop.
At the event, Bishop Peter Tran Dinh Tu expressed his deep gratitude for the sentiments made by the delegates towards him over the past time as well as their presence at the celebration of his 25th anniversary as Bishop.
