Provincial medical sector be 24/24 on guard duty

According to statistics from Provincial Department of Health, during seven days from February 7 (i.e. December 28 of the lunar calendar) to February 13 (i.e. January 4 of the lunar calendar), the whole province recorded 452,561 medical examination cases, including traffic accidents accounted for 5.1% with 2,318 cases, an increase of 13% over the same period in 2023; There were 3 deaths due to traffic accidents. Notably, among the total number of medical examination cases, there are 580 cases of accidents caused by firecrackers and fireworks, an increase of 104% over the same period in 2023; and 75 cases of accidents with weapons and homemade explosives, an increase 120% over the same period in 2023.

Also, according to statistics, during the Tet holiday 2024 in the province, there were 487 cases of medical examination due to food-related poisoning, 1,199 cases requiring type 3 surgery or higher, 1,175 cases of birth at the hospital, 453 cases of being transported by ambulance.

Previously, to ensure compliance with on-call schedule during the Lunar New Year, the Department of Health directed medical facilities in the province to fully prepare ambulances, medicine, medical equipment, and personnel... being ready for medical examination and treatment, ensuring food safety and hygiene, and out-of-hospital emergency care. Accordingly, during Tet holidays, the provincial medical authority ensured to be on duty 24/24 hours, strictly implemented the handover regime, had no professional errors, and arranged on-duty personnel at 4 levels (leadership, expertise - hotline management, self-defense, epidemic reporting) to ensure care and protection of people's health.
