In 2024, the Provincial Red Cross Association actively implemented the program "Safety for Poor and Disadvantaged Fishermen," which was launched by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society. This initiative aimed to support migrant workers from coastal provinces and those who rely on fishing for their livelihood along rivers. The program was designed to assist poor fishermen in neighboring provinces by creating better conditions and opportunities for them.

Namely, the Provincial Red Cross Society supported 300 million VND to the Ha Tinh Provincial Red Cross Society to provide life-saving equipment such as: life jackets, life buoys and training on safety when traveling and working at sea. In addition, the association also supported the Red Cross Association of Binh Thuan province with 80 million VND to build a house for a poor and disadvantaged fishing household; supported 250 million VND to Quang Binh province to build 5 Red Cross houses for poor fishing households, and presented 100 gifts with a total value of 150 million VND to disadvantaged fishermen.
