Efficiency from joint programs

In 2016, provincial Women’s Union and Labor Union held a lot of joint programs on making law dissemination and giving care to the lives of female civil servants and employees by concrete schemes. These programs created strong changes in law execution among female employees and employers, thereby building up harmonious labor relations at enterprises, contributing to the local socio-economic development.

Giving practical care to employees’ lives

Nguyen Thi Thu Hong, Chairwoman of provincial Women’s Union said that provincial Women’s Union and Labor Union well fulfilled their programs in 2016. Noticeably, they took good care of the material and spiritual lives of civil servants and employees; sped up propaganda and education, organized patriotic emulation movements, carried out works in celebration of Women’s Union congresses at all levels with the participation of numerous female employees, thereby opportunely honoring outstanding collectives and individuals.

A “model lodging” program is effectively implemented by units, practically taking care of the lives of young workers

Particularly, provincial Women’s Unions and Trade Unions at all levels last year took part in setting up programs on inspection and monitoring over the implementation of policies regarding employment, social insurance, health insurance…for employees, especially female ones at industrial parks; coordinated with functional agencies to carry out inspection tours on labor, social insurance and other policies for female employees; further implemented “breast milk cabin” models, organized childminding at enterprises; jointly made the installation of camera systems for 17 kindergartens at enterprises and private ones with the capacity of between 120 and 350 kids…

Efficiency from schemes

Under the instruction of the Central Committee of Vietnam Women’s Union on piloting the establishment of Women’s Union branches at enterprises, provincial Women’s Union last year set up additional 18 branches with 742 members. Provincial Women’s Unions and Trade Unions at all levels also paid attention to taking care of the spiritual lives of employees; teamed up with relevant units to visit and present 28,473 gifts worth more than VND3.1billion for female workers at lodging facilities and children of young workers who could not return home for Tet. Under the Scheme on Uniting and gathering young workers for the period of 2016-2020, provincial Women’s Union also set up 26 sub-unions for female workers at lodging facilities with 791 members.

Besides, provincial Women’s Union and Labor Union jointly promoted a Scheme on “Supporting, developing private baby-sitting groups at export, processing and industrial zones till 2020”. They also continued making a survey on the real situation of 27 kindergartens in Thuan An and Di An towns; opened 4 training courses for mothers and babysitters in 4 wards of Di An town…

Possibly speaking, coordination between provincial Women’s Union and Labor Union over the past time raised the role and responsibility of mass organizations in protecting female employees’ legitimate rights and interests, contributing to creating strong changes in law execution among female employees and employers, ensuring the local sustainable socio-economic development.

In 2017, provincial Women’s Union and Labor Union will further attach special importance to making law dissemination and taking care of the spiritual and material lives of female employees, especially single mothers with difficult circumstances; effectively implement the Scheme on Uniting and gathering young workers for the period of 2016-2020, the Scheme on “Supporting, developing private baby-sitting groups at export, processing and industrial zones till 2020” in order to take care of female employees’ spiritual & material lives, protect their legitimate rights and interests, contributing to the local common development.
