Safe adaptation to ensure full goods supply

Update: 12-12-2021 | 17:28:54

In order to ensure a balance of supply and demand of goods for people's consumption and to cope with the COVID-19 epidemic in the new stage, the industry and trade sector is coordinating with relevant units to implement a plan to stockpile goods and to stabilize market prices and carry out social security.

Prices to reduce by 5-10%

According to the direction of Mr. Mai Hung Dung, Standing provincial Party Committee, Standing Deputy Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, in 2022, goods stored to stabilize the market must ensure quality, food safety and hygiene. The level of commodity reserves must ensure the balance of supply and demand on the provincial market to avoid scarcity, ensure social security, improve living standards and take care of people's health. The plan to reserve essential goods must be associated with the implementation of the campaign of "Vietnamese people giving priority to use Vietnamese goods"; the price indices of essential products are controlled and maintained to reduce intermediary costs and lower the cost of products of enterprises on the principle of no loss and that the price is always reduced by 5-10% compared to the market price from time to time.

Mr. Mai Hung Dung directed the branches to well coordinate and organize the distribution system from province to districts, towns and cities to stimulate consumption and widely inform and propagate the program of stabilizing essential goods to communes, wards and townships, to mobilize commercial enterprises and producers of essential goods to participate in the market stabilization program in the form of organizing mobile sales or fun fairs to bring Vietnamese goods to the countryside, to ensure the supplying chain, goods circulation, and distribution system in the province regarding supermarkets, convenience stores, and traditional markets; enterprises producing goods, supplying and processing food and foodstuffs must be continuously and stably operated.

Leaders of Department of Industry and Trade are currently focusing on working with businesses and localities on the plan to reserve essential goods and implement price stabilization. In particular, the focus is on the time before, during and after the Lunar New Year from December 1, 2021 to March 1, 2022, then it continues to deploy in the remaining months of 2022.

Full preparation of goods sources

As for petroleum products, the provincial People's Committee assigned two petroleum enterprises: Thanh Le Import-Export Trading Corporation JSC and Song Be Petroleum Company to undertake full supply for the entire petroleum system in the province with an expected increase of 10 - 12% over the same term. For medicines for human treatment and goods for disease prevention and control such as masks, medical equipment for epidemic prevention and control, quick test biological products, etc., leaders of Department of Health preside over and direct pharmacies in the districts, towns and cities to stabilize prices and deploy health stations in communes, wards and townships with retail prices set by the health sector to ensure a sufficient number of services at hospitals and community residents.

Leaders of Department of Agriculture and Rural Development also said that they are focusing on prevention and control of African swine fever at re-emergence and to provide technical support to breeders, to apply bio-secure livestock, and ensure stable food supply for the market. For households and livestock farms with pigs infected with disease, after elimination, they encourage not to re-herd but switch to raising poultry and other livestock such as cows, goats etc.

Ms. Phan Thi Khanh Duyen, Deputy Director of Department of Industry and Trade, said that the department directs supermarkets and CP Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company of Binh Duong branch, Vietnam Animal Industry One Member Limited Liability Company (Vissan) and Feddy Co. Ltd. to participate in stabilizing the pork market in the province by committing to ensure the quantity and selling at the registered stabilized prices of 5 - 10% lower than the market prices. At the same time, the department mobilizes food processing enterprises in the area to increase the offering of processed pork products such as braised pork, salted pork leg etc. to better meet the needs and tastes of customers, partially replacing the demand for hot meat in the market.

The industry and trade sector directs localities to develop plans to stockpile essential goods to stabilize the market for small businesses by supplementing essential goods sources to serve the 2022 Lunar New Year and implementing a business arrangement plan for fixed households in the market and arranging more business points outside the market to meet the shopping needs of the people before, during and after the Lunar New Year, especially in the days of approaching Tet.
