Schools ready for new academic year

All level pupils have officially started the new school year of 2013-2014. In this academic year, though the number of pupils increases highly, material facilities of schools across the province have still met the increase.   Chanh My primary school in Thu Dau Mot city has been just completed.

Entering the new academic year, the entire province has 20 schooling works put into use with 458 classrooms. The number of pupils increases annually, building of material facilities has solved problem of overload at localities.

On the new school year, Thuan An town education and training sector has put into use 27 classrooms, serving for over 2,000 pupils. In this new school year, the town has additional 6,000 pupils while Di An town has opened 5 schooling works including 1 primary school, 3 secondary schools and one upgraded high school.

Among these works, Dong Hoa secondary school, capitalized at over VND60bil has the scale of 32 classrooms. Meanwhile, Dau Tieng district has also 5 newly-built schools with the total capital of about VND163bil.

Tran Hieu, vice director of the provincial department of Education and Training said that the sector will build 60 schools from now till late 2013. Along with the provincial administration’s investment, schools have enjoyed upgrade and repair to cater for the new school year.

Thuan Giao primary school directorate said that owing to increase on the number of pupils in this new school year, the school suffered a shortage of 206 sets of tables and chairs. However, the town People’s Committee timely offered the number of tables and chairs for this schools. In the summer vacation, the school spent VND30mil to repair a canteen.

Le Viet Hung, head of Tan Uyen district division of education and training added that owing to increase on the number of pupils in this academic year, the district People’s Committee spent VND5.8bil to build 14 more classrooms for 5 local primary schools.

In addition, the district People’s Committee allowed the local education sector to use budget for building 2 classrooms at Sunflower pre-school with the cost of VND1.4bil and constructing a collective kitchen at Bach Dang primary school with the expense of VND1.2bil. Additionally, there were 2 schools enjoying funds to newly build 2 classrooms worth VND850mil.

Huynh Thi My Ngan, head of Thuan An town division of education and training said that as of mid-Aug. the sector finalized repair of 33 works worth over VND7bil. The town People’s Committee steered local schools to purchase material facilities in service for learning and teaching.

Over the past year, the provincial administration always pays attention to material facilities for local schools. Every year, the province spends 15-20% of budget to develop educational cause. In this year the entire province increases nearly 24,000 pupils, equivalent to over 20 schools. However, thanks to proper allocation and arrangement, there are no pupils lacking care of education in this 2013-2014 academic year.
