Solutions for local ecological tourism development

With 3 rivers Saigon, Dong Nai and Be going through, Binh Duong province now owns a lot of beautiful places. This is the foundation for the province to boost the local ecological tourism in association with rivers.

Difficulties

According to experts, the province’s ecological tourism has faced difficulties on infrastructure, linkage between ecological tourism sites… for change.

They also said that over the past time, the province and ecological tourism sites in the province attached special importance to fostering ecological tourism products along Saigon river, but infrastructure facilities in this field were still poor. There were only some ecological tourism sites with well-built infrastructure, namely Din Ky, Phuong Nam, Tiamo, Phu Thinh… In addition, workforce in this field was still amateur. Tourism products and other services were also relatively rudimentary…

Strengthening innovation, linkage

To promote the local ecological tourism development, the province needs to create innovation in infrastructure construction, enhance the quality of workforce, diversify tourism products…, according Pham Tran Quang Hung from Binh Duong University.

Whilst, Nguyen Khoa Hai, Director of provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (DoCST) said that provincial DoCST has coordinated with HCM city’s DoCST and travel units to make a survey on waterway tourism route Saigon-Binh Duong-Cu Chi with attractive places like Din Ky, Tiamo, Phu Thinh, Tran Van Ho antique house, Phu Long communal house, Tuong Binh Hiep lacquerware village…In the coming time, the province’s tourism sector will strengthen coherence, design tours with connection between ecological and discovery tourism.

Along with existing advantages, the province’s tourism sector in general and ecological tourism in particular needs to have close coordination between the State, enterprises and gardeners. The role of the local administration in promoting ecological tourism is seen as a decisive factor.

Gardeners in Lai Thieu ward and Bach Dang commune also asserted that the local ecological tourism is only promoted when getting promotion from many sides. Initially, the State needs to have support policies for this field. Localities in the province also need to make coherence and form up more ecological tourism sites.

Representatives of travel units in the province said that they are very interested in making the linkage between travel units and taking part in designing special tours of each locality. And the linkage between the State, enterprises and gardeners is still very importance in the local ecological tourism development.

Under provincial project on developing special tourism products to 2015, orientations to 2020, project on ecological tourism and craft village development, Decision No.63/2016 supporting the conservation and development of special orchards for the period of 2017-2021…, provincial DoCST will hold seminars, conferences putting forward orientations on ecological tourism development, helping the local authorities at all levels and gardeners promote this field.
