“Building a cultural hamlet is easy but also difficult”, Hoa Loc hamlet head Nguyen Huu Tai in Minh Hoa commune of Dau Tieng district. As a remote locality, the hamlet is home to more than half of Cham ethnic people and immigrant fishermen. They arrive in the locality and take themselves unchanged custom, so it is difficult to mobilize them to conduct cultural lifestyle. Therefore, building a cultural hamlet must start from the most essential things of guiding business ways, mobilizing civilized lifestyle.

Kho Sanh, a Cham ethnic person, said local people’s life is now improved much. Huu Tai explained “Cham village is now very prosperous. Local people trust in hamlet leaders’ suggestions on business ways”. In the past Tet, local Cham people enjoyed a big Tet holiday. Pustapa family spent VND160mil to enjoy pilgrimage tour to Saudi Arabia.

The then dilapidated houses in this village have been replaced by wide and clean houses. All is thanks to structure of plant, offering favorable conditions for excelling the movement of “All people unite to build a cultural life”.

Cham ethnic people dislike drinking and gambling but they like children. It is difficult to mobilize them not to give the third child. Therefore, the hamlet leaders arrive at every house to mobilize them. “We understand difficulties of giving many children. Thanks to instructions, we overcome poverty and trust in local authority’s advice” Kho Sanh said.

Huu Tai added “When mobilizing families to conduct family planning, I voluntarily take local women to health stations to apply contraceptive measures. I have so far taken many women to health stations for applying contraceptive measures. My wife is sometimes jealous”.

Thanks to closeness and promulgation, over the past 10 years, the hamlet has conducted all criteria of building a cultural hamlet.
