Study and talent promotion develops sharply

The local study promotion society at all levels in cooperation with the local education and training sector annually launches the study promotion month from Sept. 2 to Oct. 2. The study and talent promotion activities include programs of granting scholarships, bikes, clothes and so on to help poor students pursue their study.

Lastly, Binh Duong province-based Korean business society granted 15 scholarships each worth VND3mil to talented disadvantaged students in Phu Giao district.

Ngo Thi Le Mi, member of Phu Giao district Study Promotion Society, said “We are very happy to witness individuals and bodies’ scholarship donations to local poor students. In the academic year, local poor students enjoy 15 scholarships worth VND30mil from Prudential Life Insurance Company, textbooks from Binh Duong Telecom Company’s Youth Union, gifts from all level youth unions, insurance cards from Binh Duong Post Office Insurance Company and scholarships and gifts from other bodies and individuals”.

Le Khac Tri, vice chairman of Ben Cat district People’s Committee said that the district Study Promotion Society annually enjoys sponsors from donors to help thousands of local poor students go to school.

Since the opening day of this year’s new school year, the district has constantly received donations from individuals and bodies for poor students.

Possibly speaking, the study and talent promotion now becomes an emulation movement paid attention by agencies and bodies at all levels.

Many donors give direct supports to poor students. For examples, Dang Thi Kim Oanh, general director of Kim Oanh Real Estate Company in Ben cat annually spends billions of VND to build hi-unity houses to the poor and grant scholarships to poor students.

Meanwhile, Binh Duong Water Supply Company often grants scholarships to talented disadvantaged pupils. Some foreign businesses also show their attention to local excellent-but-poor students.

The local activity of study and talent promotion has been spread positively. Nguyen Xuan Vinh, chairman of the provincial study promotion society, said “100% of local districts and townships have so far set up study promotion societies.

Annually, the societies grant thousands of scholarships to poor students. Over the past 8 years of establishment, the study promotion society has granted scholarships and gifts to 182,315 poor students and 10,979 teachers with the total value of nearly VND55bil”.
