There are some 40 wooden stilt houses in the village

Lac Village is now a popular attraction for travelers thanks to the closeness, hospitality and friendliness of the locals. Lac Village in Mai Chau District of Hoa Binh Province is home to white Thai minority ethnic group.

Local residents formerly relied on growing rice and making brocade. But now many of them earn a living by providing tourism services such as catering, singing and dancing.

Female villagers manually make souvenirs, scarves, bracelets, purses and many others for sale to tourists. Local men produce bows and arrows, gongs, and other handicrafts as souvenirs. Therefore, minority ethnic Thais’ traditional handmade products can be preserved.

Villagers built nearly 40 wooden stilt houses to provide homestay services for holidaymakers, especially foreigners.
