Tet gifts donated to disadvantaged people

On January 20, provincial Red Cross Society coordinated with provincial Buddhist Sangha’s Executive Board and Social Charity Board to organize a "Zero-dong” market-day for workers, blind people and those with difficult circumstances in 9 districts, towns and cities in the province.

The event was attended by  Nguyen Van Loi, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Head of provincial National Assembly deputy delegation; Nguyen Van Loc, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of provincial People's Council; Nguyen Thi My Hang, Chairwoman of provincial Fatherland Front Committee; Nguyen Minh Thuy, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Committee's Organization Commission; Nguyen Truong Nhat Phuong, Vice-Chairwoman of provincial People's Council. On the side of provincial Buddhist Sangha, there was Venerable Thich Hue Thong, Vice-Chairman of the Executive Council, Head of the Central Legal Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and Head of provincial Buddhist Sangha’s Executive Board.

With 38 booths, the market-day supported meaningful and practical gifts worth more than VND 1 million each, including essential necessities and Tet goods, for 1,000 workers, blind people and those with difficult circumstances. The total cost of the program was more than VND 1 billion, funded by monks, nuns Buddhist followers, businesses and donors.

Speaking at the market-day, provincial Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Loi welcomed and expressed his deep gratitude to provincial Buddhist Sangha’s Executive Board, Socical Charity Board, all-level authorities and mass organizations...for their contributions to taking care of people, especially during the Tet (Lunar New Year) festival 2024 while believing that these meaningful social charity activities will continue spreading.

On the occasion of the upcoming Tet festival 2024, provincial Party Committee Secretary wished everyone a new year full of good health, prosperity and happiness while believing that the lives of people with difficult circumstances will be improved.
