“For this year, we are offered a month payment as bonuses. Thus, we should have a sum for Tet. Both of us could use such money for Tet with our family,” said Lan expressing her joy.
Tet Holiday is highlighted by night markets in industrial parks offering foods to garments. The factory workers are all ready for shopping in those markets as gifts for their relatives. Many are hopeful of higher salary and lower market price hike.
Mr. Tran Trong Tuyen, a factory worker of Saigon International Co. Ltd. in Di An Town told us about his expectation of higher bonuses for Tet. However, prices should increase during Tet, requring control of price cheating and hiking so that factory workers like Tuyen could buy more.
Endeavors for Tet bonuses
Statistically by Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, 358 enterprises in the province have announced their bonuses for Tet Holiday 2015. Accordingly, many enterprises offer 1 to 2 month payments. State-own enterprises offer highest bonuses of VND 6 million per capita, FDI enterprises VND 4.6 million, private enterprises nearly VND 4 million, and State-own JSC VND 3.4 million.
According to Mr. Nguyen Phung Trung, Deputy Director of Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, the report on salary and Tet Holiday bonuses showed big gaps in highest and lowest bonuses among enterprises. Due to challenging conditions for business and production, many enterprises, by now, have not yet announced their bonus scheme for the holiday. However, they have been making endeavours to ensure bonuses for the holiday, assuring warm and joyful days for their employed.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Tien, Labor Union Chair of Thong Dung Shoes Corporation in Thuan An Town, revealed bonus scheme along with activities for factory workers during Tet Holiday 2015.
