The core of people’s unity

Through time with various names, the Vietnamese People’s Unity Front initiated and led by Communist Party of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh keeps promoting patriotism and people’s unity to worthily contribute to the success of people’s liberation success for the unification of the nation and the protection of Socialist Vietnam.

Glorious tradition

After Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) was established on February 03, 1930, its Standing Board had directed to establish the Association of Allied Anti-Emperor – the initial organization of Vietnamese People’s Unity (November 18, 1930)

In the on-going revolutionary cause of the nation, the front was in charge of gathering people’s power under leadership of CPV to carry out revolutionary actions and retrieve the authorities to the people.

The activity organizations of the front by variant names from 1930 through 1968 were the flexible and creative response to specific fighting courses of Vietnamese revolution. In all situations and challenges, the Front inspired and promoted patriotism of Vietnamese people whose unity power had fostered the recovery of independence and freedom of the nation and construction of well-off and happy people’s lives.

The victorious August Revolution 1945 established Democratic Republic of Vietnam being coupled with the glorious cause of Vietnamese Alliance Front which inherited the prepared cause before the periods of 1930-1936 and 1936-1939. The merging of associations on March 3, 1951 contributed to the successful resistance war against the French colony. Inheriting the cause of the association of the then fatherland front committee in 1955, the front gathered all people strata to carry out the socialism revolution in the North of Vietnam to create the solid foundation for the liberation of the South of Vietnam and unify the nation.

In the resistance war against the US Army, the Front, together with the People’s Front of the South of Vietnam Liberation 1960 and Alliance of people’s democratic forces and peace 1968, unified nationwide people to fulfill the glorious mission of protecting the socialist North of Vietnam, liberating the South of Vietnam and fulfilling the revolutionary mission of nationwide people.

Ever since the nation unification, the Front has been enhanced in terms of people’s unity, nation construction and protection in the new revolutionary era.

Being with national development

Inheriting and promoting the historical role of Vietnamese People’s Unity Front through time, today Front has promoted patriotism, people’s pride and power to unify Vietnamese in- and out-side of the nation, not discriminating social background, ethnicity, religion, past background, ideology and opinions provided that the reforms and target of maintaining independence, national ownership and sovereignty for the success of industrialization and modernization in a nation of wealth, democracy, equality, and civilization are supported in line of President Ho Chi Minh death’s testament for a nation of peace, unification, independence, democracy, and prosperity, contributing to the cause of world peace, democracy and social advance. The Front has become a body of SR of Vietnam led by CPV as a political establishment of the people, showing their will, wishes, and unity for people’s ownership. The Front has been tasked to gather, construct and promote people’s unity for democracy, social agreements, and protection of people’s benefits and rights.

Implementing the doctrine of reforming initiated and led by CPV, the Front has continued to expand the people’s unity, promote the creativity and power of the people to make use of all the potentials and advantageous conditions for good emulation of production, businesses, learning, and working with enthusiastic participation into construction of the Party, authority, and the maintenance of national sovereignty and development of friendly relationship to nations in the world.

Implementing the targets of urbanization, modernization, and integration into the world economy, the Front implemented the widespread unity of Vietnamese, upholding the independence, unification of the nation for people’s prosperity, national power, equality, and civilization to unify communities of religion, people, people strata in Vietnam and foreign nations to eliminate prejudice of the past, people classes and uphold the benefits of the people.

In the years, the movements of patriotism initiated by the Front have been agreed upon by domestic and oversea Vietnamese who contributed their efforts and money to significantly gain the targets of economics, culture, society, poverty eradication, and maintenance of political security and social order.
