The delegation fo Binh Duong province’s leaders paid tribute to General Vo Nguyen Giap On the morning of October 12th, Binh Duong province’s provincial leader’s delegation led by Central Party Committee Member cum provincial Party Committee Secretary Mai The Trung together with provincial People’s Committee Chairman Le Thanh Cung , and provincial Party Standing Committee came to Thong Nhat Hall in HCM City to pay tribute to General Vo Nguyen Giap. On behalf of provincial Party Committee, government and people, Mr. Mai The Trung wrote on the funeral book: “Party Committee and people of Binh Duong province bow respectfully before hallowed memory to bid farewell to the General, who is a senior revolutionist, an eminent military authority, the eldest brother of Vietnamese People’s Army. The General, who made significant contributions to the two resistance wars, will be always a shining example for generations to study and follow”.  Provincial leader's delegation paid tribute to General Vo Nguyen Giap On October 12th, thousands of people came to pay the last respect to General Vo Nguyen Giap at Thong Nhat Hall in HCM City to commemorate great merits of the General to the Party and the country. Tears flowed on faces, many touched stories were told before the portrait of the General… Early October 12th, people of all ages lined up at Thong Nhat Hall (HCM City) to pay tribute to General Vo Nguyen Giap. Mingling with the crowd, late President Vo Van Kiet’s wife did not hide her emotions: “The General’s decease is a great loss to the whole country. The General lives forever in hearts of Vietnamese’s people”. Lieutenant General Le Van Han, former Vice Chairman of General Political Bureau was choking with emotions: “I will never forget moments of meeting the General. He is our eldest brother. His heart to us cannot be explained by words”. Lieutenant General Le Nam Phong came with old comrades in Dien Bien Phu campaign to pay lat respects to their commander. He said: “I had a chance to meet the General in 1949. He is our commander in the Border Zone campaign 1950, Dien Bien Phu campaign 1954. Today, the General has gone, and we are so mournful”. Former Ambassador cum former Deputy Head of NA’s Foreign Relations Committee Ms. Ton Nu Thi Ninh said in tears: “Like millions of Vietnamese people, I am so painful because of the General’s death. He is a talented national hero loved by people within and outside the nation. His name incorporates the two great national resistance wars. General Vo Nguyen Giap was an unobtrusive person and stayed close to people. Lessons from the General have great meanings not only in the past but also in present and future time. Young generation should follow the General’s example to have confidence, determination and creativeness to pursue aspirations. Additionally, compassion, humanity, trust and hope for good things are also necessary”. Leaving all daily works behind, Le Duc Tho from Ha Tinh province came to Thong Nhat Hall with a bouquet of roses, a self-composed rhyme to pay tribute to the General. Many delegations pinned mourning bands and brought the General’s portrait as coming to the funeral. Ms. Ngoc Yen, a representative of Vietnam Entrepreneur Cultural Center’s delegation, said: “Although the General passed away, he lives forever in each Vietnamese’s family”. During October 12th, there were nearly 100,000 people of delegations from HCM City, southern provinces, Consulates of Russia, America, India, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Singapore etc. coming to the funeral of General Vo Nguyen Giap.
