The sixth Binh Duong Provincial Sports Games 2022 shows a strong Binh Duong

After more than five months with many competitions of 20 sports, the sixth Binh Duong Provincial Sports Games 2022 was successfully organized in all aspects. In particular, the diversification of sport and competition form is considered a new feature in this meaningful sports festival.

Karate competitions of the 6th Binh Duong Provincial Sports Games 2022 are held in Tan Uyen Town. 

The most encouraging thing about the 6th Provincial Sports Games 2022 is that Binh Duong has risen strongly after the Covid-19 pandemic to successfully organize this special sport event. Compared to other provinces and cities across the country, Binh Duong overcame all difficulties to successfully held the provincial festival, and prepare for the provincial sports teams to attend the 2022 National Games later this year in Quang Ninh province. Thus, compared to other sports teams, Binh Duong teams have more than 6 months to consolidate their forces and strengthen skills before entering official competitions at the National Games 2022.

The success of the 2022 Provincial Sports Games is the result of enormous efforts of provincial sports from commune, district to provincial levels. Each commune in districts, towns and cities held commune-level competitions of 5-12 sports. In particular, some localities, such as Long Nguyen commune of Bau Bang district or Hiep An ward of Thu Dau Mot city organized 10 competitions. At district-level, each locality held at least 12 or more competitions. Among them, localities, such as Thuan An City, Thu Dau Mot City, Bau Bang District, Phu Giao District, are the localities that successfully organized sports competitions according to the plan.

The initial good results of the grassroots-level sports competitions facilitated the success of the 6th Binh Duong Provincial Sports Games 2022. As planned, the festival had 20 competitions, including 18 official and 2 responsive sports. However, aerobics had not have enough teams for the competition, the organizers eventually organized competitions of 19/20 sports.

A new feature of the 2022 festival was that the organizing committee boldly brought the organization of some sports to localities. In localities, like Tan Uyen town, Thuan An city or Di An city, had many fans coming to watch and cheer for the athletes.

In general, the 6th Binh Duong Provincial Sports Games 2022 has been successful in terms of organization as well as professionalism. However, there were still limitations that need to be overcome in order for the next festival to be more successful. According to the host, some localities did not really pay attention to this year's festival. The organization was not careful, the competition form was monotonous, the competition quality was not high, thus these did not attract a large number of participants. In addition, the number and structure of athletes was small and not diverse. Groups, such as workers, armed forces…, accounted for only a small percentage. Material facilities of some grassroots and district levels have not been upgraded and renovated to serve the organization of local competitions.
