Thu Dau Mot city to promote saving and anti-wastefulness

Based on the determination of saving practice and anti-wastefulness as one of the key tasks of the Party, concurrently, the Party committees and authorities at all levels of Thu Dau Mot city have actively propagated and led to direct many solutions in order to make a strong change in the work of saving practice and anti-wastefulness.

Talking to us about the implementation of saving practice and anti-wastefulness of Thu Dau Mot city, Nguyen Loc Ha, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City said that the city has always been determined to the work. Saving practice and anti-wastefulness are the central tasks throughout the process of leading and directing the implementation of the socio-economic development tasks of the locality. Aside from propagating, popularizing and thoroughly grasping the Party's policies and regulations of the State law on saving practice and anti-wastefulness, the People's Committee has concentrated on leading and directing the construction and operations of the Party while implementing many solutions to effectively carry out saving practice and anti-wastefulness.

Recently, the city People's Committee has strengthened the direction, management and implementation of all aspects of saving practice and anti-wastefulness. Currently, the city consists of administrative units, agencies of the Party, mass organizations, ward units and non-productive units engage in continual development, amendment and supplementation of regulations on internal expenditure, management, electricity, water, procurement of equipment and means etc. in the direction of thrift and efficiency. The whole city has 32 units implementing autonomy and self-responsibility in the management and use of staffing and expenditures under the Government's Decree No. 130/2005 / ND-CP dated October 17, 2005. Through the implementation of the autonomy and self-responsibility mechanism, staffing and operating expenses have created favorable conditions for the units to take the initiative in using allocated funds and raising the responsibility of the unit's heads in exploiting sources of revenue and saving administrative costs to increase income for civil servants in the unit.

In addition, the city has implemented saving practice and anti-wastefulness in the formulation, appraisal, approval, settlement, management and use of the State budget; to practice saving and anti-wastefulness in the procurement, use of means of transportation and working facilities and equipment of agencies and organizations in the State sector. The use of property, means and equipment to work for the right purposes, objects, norms, standards and so on have contributed to improve the quality and efficiency of work.

According to Nguyen Loc Ha, over time, the agencies and units of the city have done well to achieve many results in terms of saving practice and anti-wastefulness. The management of the use of the state budget has gradually been put into practice to save up unnecessary expenses to supplement the expenditures for professional activities and increasing incomes for officials, public servants and employees. However, according to Ha, the People's Committee of the city is not satisfied with some limitations in the practice of saving and anti-wastefulness in some agencies and units related to the content of practical report of propaganda to mobilize people to practice saving and anti-wastefulness. Therefore, in the coming time, the City People's Committee will promote such propaganda in the public service in combination with the implementation of Directive No. 05-CT / TW of the 12th Politburo on "promoting learning and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics and style", especially on saving and anti-wastefulness. The city will also continue to implement publicity, transparency of procedures, administrative procedures, minimize negative, harassment, facilitate people and businesses by promoting administrative reform and cost savings.
