Doan Thi Thu from Domesco Pharmacy Dong Thap claimed the first stage of the Binh Duong International Women’s Cycling Tournament on March 9.

 International women’s cycling race opens in Binh Duong

The 120km stage from Binh Duong province to Vung Tau City saw Cao Thi Cam Le from Binh Duong Water Supply Drainage and Environment, Tran Thi Ai Nuong from Can Tho City, Nur Ain Mahmood from Malaysia, Nguyen Thi Thi from An Giang Plant Protection 2 and Vo Thi Bich Lam from Dong Thap break away from the pelaton, and extend their lead to two minutes early on.

With 30km to go, Thu joined the leading group and eventually finished in front with a time of 3 hours 39 minutes and 30 seconds, followed by Phan Thi Lieu from An Giang.

An Giang Plant Protection 1 are first in the team competition with a combined time of 11 hours 00 minutes and 45 seconds, followed by Domesco Pharmacy Dong Thap and the Dong Thap youth team.

They will continue the race on the 112km second stage from Vung Tau City to La Gi Town in Binh Thuan province on March 10.
