High economic efficiency

Up to now, there are many farmers and farms in the town that apply technical advances in agricultural production such as net house farming, automatic irrigation systems, technology banana models. closed from planting to semi-processing, product consumption, the spread of model has spread from farmer households to a form of association into cooperatives and cooperatives ... The boldness of farmers and farms in the town The application of technological advances to agricultural production has contributed to reducing labor costs, meeting the water and nutritional needs of plants for each growth period.

Mokara orchid model cut branches of Mr. Nguyen Van Khoanh household, in Tan Lap hamlet, An Dien commune is a typical. This model has created a stable source of income for the family, ensuring a better living environment and increasing the urban landscape. Originally from a farmer's family with a passion for bonsai, in 2012 Mr. Khoanh invested VND 200 million to plant 2,000 orchids.

In the early days of growing orchids, due to technology, little experience so he encountered many difficulties. Due to his hard work of studying, he gradually overcame his limitations. In 2013, he planted 10,000 more orchids with an investment of more than 1 billion. To date, he has over 22,000 orchids with a total area of nearly 5,000m2. Currently, he harvests averagely once a week, selling price of 8,000-10,000 VND / branch. On average, his family earns nearly 300 million dong a year from the sale of orchids and seedlings.

In addition to the orchid model, there are 4,650 ha of mushrooms in the town now, 1,210m2 of sprouts. These are agricultural models with small farming areas but high value per unit area, suitable for urban agriculture. Typically, the mushroom growing model of Phu An Cooperative Group with more than 10 members, total area of about 7,000m2; the income of each member is from 5 to 30 million dong / month; Binh Duong Clean Mushroom Cooperative in Thoi Hoa Ward has a total area of 6,000m2, bringing an average income of 100 million VND / month ... These mushroom planting models apply semi-automatic irrigation systems, adjust heat moisture and humidity have created the most favorable conditions for optimal plant growth.

Sustainable development

The development of urban agriculture and high-tech application agriculture in the town has brought about high economic efficiency. Currently, the townspeople are tending to access and apply more and more new techniques in agricultural production such as hydroponic vegetable cultivation, drip irrigation, automatic irrigation – fertilizer.

However, records show that the area of crop production and husbandry applying high technology in the town area is still low; The models are still spontaneous, not properly invested, not highly effective, and create a strong motivation in improving the local agriculture. Meanwhile, according to the assessment, although the provinces and towns have policies to encourage the development of urban agriculture and high-tech agriculture, the establishment of value chains from the stage of agricultural production and consumption clean products, high-tech agricultural products with the core of cooperatives and cooperative groups have not shown sustainability.

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Thong, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Ben Cat, affirmed that agricultural production in the direction of urban agriculture is essential and a sustainable way of developing agriculture in the context of land area serving local agriculture decreased, increasing consumer demand for safe and high quality agricultural products. Therefore, all levels and related branches of the town should follow the town's general planning and crop cultivation planning to 2020 and vision to 2025 to implement agricultural production in the direction of restructuring. agriculture; attaching importance to the development of urban agriculture and high-tech agriculture in association with the formation of riverine eco-tourist resorts, along with the promotion of new rural construction in the locality.

In addition, relevant levels, sectors and units should build and develop agricultural cooperatives and cooperatives to expand the value chain associated with processing and consumption of agricultural products to meet market demand; promote application of science - technology, actively transfer technology. The localities need to study effective models to pilot and replicate the whole town; attaching importance to human resource training.
