Tran Quang Minh – the Vietnamese elite rubber latex tapping worker

Working with the rubber latex extraction profession for more than 13 years, Tran Quang Minh, a worker in Team 1 of Hung Hoa Rubber Plantation under Phuoc Hoa Rubber Joint Stock Company is not only skilled and dedicated with the profession, but for many years, a member of the "Golden Hand" contest team to harvest latex at all levels.

Before talking with Tran Quang Minh, we simply thought that, for rubber latex extraction, just hard work and diligence is success. Contrary to our initial thoughts, and through talking and listening to his sharing, we understood that rubber tapping requires not only skillful hands, industriousness, and hard work, but also enthusiasm and unceasing creativity combined.

Talking about his predestined in the profession, Minh said that his hometown was in Thai Binh, and he has worked as a mining worker at the farm since 2010. During 13 years of working with the rubber trees at Hung Hoa Rubber Plantation, Minh has constantly been making efforts and striving to complete and exceed the assigned targets of latex exploitation production plan. Specifically, the output of the team in 2021 delivered 9,200kg of dried latex was no match to his tapping of 10,600kg, exceeding 15.22%. In 2022, the team delivered 9,600kg of dried latex, and he made 10,800kg, exceeding 12.50%.

To get the results like today, according to Minh's experience, in order to exploit latex with high efficiency, the decisive factors for productivity are technical skills, shaving according to the technical process set by the company and always ensure working days. Minh said that from the early days of entering the profession, in addition to the knowledge he received from the team and the farm, he constantly overcame difficulties and learned from the experience of the seniors. Thanks to that, his skills are gradually improved and maintained by always using the right technique to make rubber trees produce more latex and achieve high productivity and output.

Along with that, in the work of equipping materials, Minh always timely implements, reinforces rain gutters, rain roofs... in order to keep the output in the best way. At the same time, he is also active to take the initiative to shave the parts of the tree that do not have workers due to lack of labor in order to increase output and income for himself. According to Minh, practical experience showed that technical skills and dedication to the profession was one of the main factors to improve labor productivity and income for workers.

Not only was he industrious, hard-working, and firmly professional, Minh also has many initiatives and proposed solutions to bring about high efficiency, contributing to helping the unit exceed the output plan. For two consecutive years in 2021 and 2022, Minh has won the title of "Emulation Fighter", certificates of merit by the Vietnam Rubber Industry Group, and many certificates of merit from the company and the plantations.

Because of his good skills and determination, he joined the "Golden Hand" contest team to exploit rubber at all levels for many years in a row. Notably in 2022, at the 13^th "Golden Hand" contest to harvest latex organized by the Vietnam Rubber Industry Group, Minh excellently won the title of "Master" of exploitation. The achievement of his has contributed to Phuoc Hoa Rubber Joint Stock Company to win the consolation prize for the whole team. In particular, in 2023, Minh was honored to receive the title of excellent Vietnamese Rubber Worker. According to the assessment from the Board of Directors of Hung Hoa Rubber Plantation and through the technical tests from the team level, the farm to the company level, Minh has always achieved excellent grades for many years in a row. Not only is he good at professional skills, Minh always well abides by the guidelines, policies and laws of the Party and State, the rules and regulations of the company and the farm, always uphold the spirit of learning, leading by example in emulation movements at the unit, and participate enthusiastically in cultural, artistic and sports movements. In particular, innovation and saving in the emulation from the practice in the plantation, Minh has had many useful solutions, contributing to improving the operational efficiency of the unit.
