Along with examinees across the country, nearly 3,000 examinees registering to enter Thu Dau Mot University and Binh Duong University of Technology and Economics are ready for the 2011 university entrance exam.

Preparation in readiness

On July 3, examinees completed exam procedures to prepare for the 2011 university entrance exam’s 1st period. This is the first year that the mentioned universities hold the university entrance exams.

 

Competitors seek exam locations.

In 2011, Thu Dau Mot University has 1,200 enrolment quotas for university-level training with 12 majors. More than 4,000 competitors registered to take exams at the Thu Dau Mot University.

The university appointed 384 lecturers and supervisors to serve for the exam. Owing to a large number of competitors, the university holds 2 exam locations at the university and Hung Vuong Gifted high school.

Meanwhile, Binh Duong University of Technology and Economics this year will recruit 5,000 students for 5 majors. About 1,300 examinees registered to enter the university.

According to the provincial department of Education and Training, this year many local examinees choose to enter local universities and colleges. Dang Thanh Sang, vice director of the department, said “most of the local competitors choose universities and colleges near their houses to save expenses. This shows that they have a refresh vision about regional universities and colleges. The local universities have made efforts to improve training quality to keep pace with big universities across the country”.

Today, the competitors will start their first exam day.

All for safe and successful exams

Before the exam, the Ministry of Education and Training asked ministries and relevant agencies to ensure safety in the exams. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Public Security steered units across nationwide to launch supportive measures for the exams.

In addition, the Electricity of Vietnam instructed its membership companies to provide a firm power source during exam days.

Holding the university entrance exams at Thu Dau Mot University and Binh Duong University of Technology and Economics is a new event specially paid attention by the local People’s Committee.

Accordingly, the Committee instructed relevant agencies to ensure order, safety and seriousness in the exams. Specifically, policemen take charge of transporting exam questions and exam papers as well as ensure traffic safety whilst local electricity sector offers stable power sources during exam days.

The provincial Youth Union holds a program of “2011 exam season assistance” for the first time to share difficulties with competitors. Volunteer students participate in activities in bus stations to help competitors.

The program also mobilizes 800 free and cheap lodgments for examinees. In addition, Mobifone granted 100 T-shirts, hats, 50 sim cards to cater for the program.

Nguyen Tan Trung, volunteer student, head of motorbike-taxi team under the program, said “Over the past 3 days 70 volunteer students of Binh Duong University of Technology and Economics instructed competitors to arrive at exam locations and lodgments and especially they take competitors exam locations or boarding houses by motorbikes free of charge”.

Nguyen Thi Kim Loan was completing exam procedures at Thu Dau Mot University, said “I come from Binh Phuoc province. I choose Thu Dau Mot University because of convenience”.
