Update: 01-07-2011 | 00:00:00

Vietnam has moved to the 2014 World Cup’s second qualifying round to meet Qatar after defeating Macau 6-0 in Ho Chi Minh City on June 29.

After two unsuccessful matches with Dong Nai and Dong Tam Long An, the Vietnam national football team, led by chief coach Flako Goetz, satisfied their fans at Thong Nhat Stadium in a match with Macau (China) in the first leg of Asian qualifier.

Following the German chief coach’s offensive tactic, the host team had the advantage over Macao rivals right at the beginning of the match.

Cong Vinh made a hat-trick in the first half, while Thanh Luong, Van Thang and Ngoc Thanh scored three more goals for Vietnam in the second half.

With a convincing win of 6-0 over Macau, Vietnam got a ticket to the 2014 World Cup’s second qualifier for Asia.
