After a goalless first half, team coach Chen Yan Fat adjusted tactics to put more pressure on Myanmar.

In the 72nd minute Nguyen Thi Muon scored a penalty goal for Viet Nam after a Myanmar defender handled.

Two minutes later, Viet Nam captain Kim Hong made it double.

Last Friday, Viet Nam beat Chinese Hong Kong 4-0 in the first match of the qualifiers.

Viet Nam now lead Group A with six points, followed by Thailand with three and Myanmar, one.

The Asian Zone qualifiers have three phases to determine which two teams will represent Asia.

Viet Nam's group comprises Thailand, Hong Kong, Chinese Taipei and Myanmar. They will meet Thailand this Friday and Chinese Taipei on Sunday.

The winner of this round will join Japan, China, North Korea, South Korea and Australia for the second qualification round from September 1-11.
