Cyclist Phan Thi Lieu of Gao Hat Ngoc Troi An Giang won the first stage of the 2014 National Women's Open Cycling Tournament for An Giang Television Cup with the total time of 1:39:25 and the average speed of 38.625km/hr.

Vo Phuong Phi of Binh Duong Water Supply-Drainage and Environment Company (Biwase) ranked second while Truong Thi Bich Nhien of Imexportpharm Dong Thap 1 came third.

Gao Hat Ngoc Troi An Giang took the lead in the team ranking with the total time of 4:58:15. It was followed by Imexpharm Dong Thap 1 and Biwase.

This year’s event absorbs nearly sixty domestic riders representing eleven Vietnamese teams and one international team from Kazakhstan with six stages passing through cities and provinces in the Southeastern region with the total length of nearly 450km. The race will conclude in Long Xuyen city on July 19 ahead.

The tournament will continue today with the second stage of 102 km from Cu Chi district to Ben Tre city.
