Vovinam movement developed from amateurs in Thuan An Town

Vovinam movement is newly established in Thuan An Town to attract plenty of local youths.For the first walking daysVovinam was introduced in Thuan An in April 2012 with the first Vovinam Club established at Tran Quoc Toan Elementary School at Lai Thieu Ward in Thuan An Town. Vovinam is a martial art and a sport for younger generation to train up courage, confidence, and life refinement orientation.As the matter of fact, Vovinam has constantly impressed the public, prompting for more clubs including Trinh Hoai Duc Club, Phan Chu Trinh Club, and An Phu Club. Vovinam fighters are performing attractive moves. Ly Vovinam is attractive in simple and artistic performing moves comparing to Judo, Karatedo, and Taekwondo.Vovinam is unique by the move of high jumping to grasp the opponent’s neck by the two legs and pull down to the ground.Vovinam is considered as a sport of humane value to educate ethics and respects where co-practitioners are considered as kins.Vovinam leader of Thuan An Town, Mr. Ho Thanh Liem said that as the trainees joined the clubs, they would be taught ethics and martial art spirit.To improve new reach of VovinamThuan An Town currently has 11 clubs with over 500 trainees. During their practice, the trainees have been offered with competition opportunity to promote brilliant performances. The trainers of the clubs have dispatched to competitions where Thuan An Team won second team place at Vovinam Tournament 2012 in the province.With constant efforts, the trainers have organized various tournaments to select best fighters for the team which shall compete in tournaments in and outside of the province. With 30 to 40 fighers Thuan An Town Vovinam Club has gradually become one of the strongest team for winning second place of team competition in 2013.
