Maudgalyāyana’s piety will be included in Buddhism lectures that teachers in pagodas use to prompt us to show more love to our parents.
Monk Thich Thien Duyen, head of Tan Uyen representative Buddhism Committee in his recent lecture has noted that Vu Lan festival offers a season for children to thank their parents. People attending his lecture could not hold back their tears when he talked about people who are very piety and others who hurt their own parents.
Buddhist followers listen to lectures about piety.
The province’s Buddhism Society traditionally organizes lectures on this occasion. This time, a trip was made to one detoxication center in Binh Phuoc province. “It is strange changing of moods when they listen to lecture about mothers about parents’ sacrifice to nurture their children. The daily appearance in their faces of hopeless and careless was replaced with regrets,” said Monk Thich Hue Thong, deputy chief of Provincial Buddhism managing committee. And the roses offered became sacred souvenirs to some of the attendees.
Maternal love is praised up in Vu Lan festival as a deep rooted tradition of the people of each child showing his/her piety to those who bring them life.
