According to the recently announced World Men’s Tennis Ranking (ATP), Vietnam No. 1 tennis player Ly Hoang Nam, Becamex, raised his rank 29 places to 433th for the first time. This was the best achievement for a Vietnamese player on the ATP rankings and also the best current achievement of a Southeast Asian player on the ATP top 440.

Hoang Nam’s achievement came from successful competition and the runner-up of single men at Vietnam F1 Futures (10 more points). On 15th May, Hoang Nam entered the first match of Vietnam F3 Futures 2018. His opponent in the first match was Son Ji Hoon (Korea, ranked 839th in ATP).

Meanwhile, 17-year-old Vietnamese tennis talent Nguyen Van Phuong increased 153 positions to 1.430th ATP, due to a point earned in Vietnam F1 Futures. Van Phuong became Vietnam No. 2 player in the professional rankings, behind only Ly Hoang Nam.
