160 scholarships awarded to poor-but-excellent pupils

Early August 18, provincial Department of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with provincial Department of Education and Training, Binh Duong-based Korea Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KoCham Binh Duong) held the first program awarding “KoCham-Helping pupils to school” scholarships at the Lucky Square Convention and Event Center.

Attending the event were Vo Van Minh, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee; Oh Jae Hack, Korean Consul General in HCM City; Lee Jong Hoe, Chairman of Kocham Binh Duong and sponsors.

The program awarded 160 scholarships worth VND460mln to 160 poor-but-excellent pupils. Of these, 70 worth VND4mln each are for high school pupils and 90 worth VND2mln each for secondary and primary school pupils. It was sponsored by Kocham Binh Duong, Panko Vina Co.Ltd., Sung Bu Vina Co.Ltd. and FourSeasons Co.Ltd. with the goal of offering help to poor-but-excellent pupils.

Addressing the ceremony, Mr.Minh spoke highly of contributions by enterprises to the local socio-economic development while hoping to further receive more support from Korean enterprises for poor-but-excellent pupils across the province.
