2016 Lunar New Year Artists’ get-together and the 5th Huynh Van Nghe Award

On Feb 26, the first Artists’ get-together in 2016 and the 5^th Huynh Van Nghe Award (2011-2015 period) took place at provincial Cultural Movies Center. Le Huu Phuoc, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Propaganda and Training Committee; representatives of agencies, sectors, and members of provincial Literature and Art Association.

Speaking at the meeting, Vo Dong Dien, Chairman of provincial Literature and Art Association, said the first artists’ get-together was a traditional activity are held regularly on every occasion of Lunar New Year. This is a source of encouragement for artists to enthusiastically compose valuable works.

Huynh Van Nghe Award is a province-level award held every 5 years. This was the 5^th time and gathered a large number of artists inside and outside the province to attend. This prize attracted more than 230 responses from 3,440 authors in the fields of culture and art. The organizers awarded 3 prizes of prose, 9 prizes of poetry, 6 prizes of theater, 10 prizes of fine arts, 10 prizes of photography, 9 prizes of music, and 1 prize of promising singer. 4 authors making great contributions to provincial culture and art received certificates of merit from PPC.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Phuoc praised artist’s contributions to the construction and development process of the province. He also recommended that artists stick closely to the actual situation, and create more excellent works about Binh Duong people and land…
