Morning (4 March), the 12th Binh Duong Women's Cycling Championship - Biwase Cup 2022 officially started off with the participation of 9 teams from many localities throughout the country. Because of the impact of Covid-19, this year's tournament did not have the participation of teams from abroad as originally planned.

The woman cyclers from 9 teams are ready to participate in the 12th Binh Duong Women's Cycling Championship - Biwase Cup.

According to the first announcement of the organizers, this year's tournament will have the participation of two foreign teams from Malaysia and Thailand. However, at the last minute, because of strict regulations on disease prevention and control, members of these two teams were unable to travel to Vietnam to take part in the tournament. Thus, this is the second consecutive season that Binh Duong Women's Cycling Championship had no participation of foreign cyclers.

The 9 teams at the tournament include: Biwase Binh Duong, Binh Duong Con Voi Fertilizer, Loc Troi An Giang, Hat Ngoc Troi, Dong Thap Construction Lottery, Vinh Long, Vinh Phuc, Vinama Ho Chi Minh City, and New Group, will compete together in 10 races with a total length of 1,101km. With a roadmap containing many harsh challenges, the teams promise to bring fans professional marks.

It is known that the day before the 12th Binh Duong Women's Cycling Championship - Biwase Cup started, the teams gathered in Binh Duong to train, familiarize themselves with the track of the opening stage around Binh Duong New City. As the host, Binh Duong Biwase team has prepared very carefully after making two training trips before and after the Lunar New Year on tracks of Biwase Cup 2022.

This year, in addition to familiar names such as Dinh Thi Nhu Quynh, Bui Thi Quynh, Bui Thi Hue or Tran Tuyet Nuong, the team also has two foreign athletes from Japan, Shoko Kashiki and Miyoko Karami. These are two familiar faces to cycling fans at the Biwase Cups. In particular, Miyoko Karami won the Biwase Cup yellow jersey in 2017.

Meanwhile, the most highly rated team at this tournament is Loc Troi An Giang has also prepared quite thoroughly for the most important tournament in 2022. Accordingly, being trained in Binh Thuan with roads from Phan Thiet to Ninh Thuan helps the athletes experience the harshness from the weather to the terrain. Moreover, the presence of Vietnam's No. 1 woman cycler Nguyen Thi That will be a formidable opponent for any contestant in the battle for the green jersey. The power of Loc Troi An Giang was proved in the 2021 Biwase season when this team acquired almost the highest titles, including: yellow shirt, blue shirt, red dot shirt and team championship.

In addition to professionalism guarantee, this year's organizers also paid special attention to disease prevention and control for the participants. With a long race route, passing through localities in the Southeast, Central Highlands and South Central regions, the organizers set up plans for coronavirus prevention and control quite closely and seriously. Accordingly, the organizers will regularly do Covid-19 rapid tests for the participants. If any athlete tested positive for Covid-19, she will immediately be transferred by ambulance to Binh Duong for treatment and other ambulances will come to replace and accompany the tournament. A total of nine ambulances were available for the 10-day tournament.

With careful and thoughtful preparation from the organizers, it is hoped that the woman cylcers of Vietnam will have a successful competitive season in March, the month of International Women's Day 8th March and leave many beautiful impressions.
