On November 13 and 14, 2024, the 2nd National Forum on Digital Economy and Digital Society Development was held at the Binh Duong Provincial Convention and Exhibition Center. The theme of the forum was “Innovative Applications of Digital Technology in Industries and Sectors to Develop the Digital Economy and Improve Labor Productivity.” This event was organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications in collaboration with the Central Economic Committee and the Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee.

Attending the forum were leaders of the Central Government, ministries, localities and many companies. This is an annual event, organized with the aim of bringing together state management agencies, businesses and leading experts to discuss issues related to the development of the digital economy and digital society in Vietnam. At the same time, it supports solving the difficult problems that businesses encounter in the process of digital transformation at enterprises.
In the afternoon of the same day, three parallel thematic sessions were held at the Binh Duong Exhibition and Convention Center, focusing on five key areas: trade, services, agriculture, industry, and logistics. Notably, the session titled "Digital Innovation, AI, and Services" garnered significant interest from both businesses and students.

At the third session "Digital innovation, AI and services", Mr. Tran Minh Tuan emphasized: “The organizers chose the topic of “Digital Innovation, AI and Services” because this is the core element shaping the future. Artificial intelligence and digital innovation are not only supporting tools but also help businesses make a breakthrough to overcome the difficult barriers they are facing.
In customer care services, there are various solutions available for managing customer interactions through virtual assistants and automated systems. These approaches help personalize services and address the diverse needs of the market.
In the field of management, AI solutions and digital innovations can reduce costs while enhancing accuracy and efficiency in the workplace. Clearly, strong innovation and strategic direction will not only drive economic growth but also serve as a foundation for Vietnam to successfully achieve its objectives during the digital transformation period.
Mr. Le Anh Van, Director of VNPT Generative AI platform - Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group, shared the challenges of AI development resources in Vietnam, including people, data, and infrastructure, in which data quality is the key issue in AI research because 80% of current AI research works is data processing.
Vietnam's current data infrastructure remains basic compared to other countries, and there are significant challenges to data sharing. Many data sources are not aggregated and are scattered, making them difficult to access. Additionally, certain models for data sharing do not adequately ensure security and privacy.
In addition, he introduced the SmartVision image processing AI platform for AI Models in transportation and security. AI platform analyzes behavior, personalizes Smart UX experience. Call sentiment analysis and automation AI platform creates voice processing AI application solutions to understand customer emotions.
During the session, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Huy, Head of the Digital Transformation Department at Mobifone Telecommunications Corporation, discussed the difficulties and challenges faced during the digital transformation process in the tourism industry. He noted that numerous independent software solutions have been developed and implemented by businesses both within and outside the tourism sector, resulting in a "matrix" of products that can confuse users when trying to access and use them. Additionally, he highlighted that the lack of data connectivity and integration between platforms poses a significant challenge to digital transformation efforts.
