In the first quarter of this year, Vietnam exported around 300,000 tonnes of coffee, earning approximately US$461 million, down 25.3 percent in volume and 31 percent in value compared to the same period last year.
After rising by US$87 per tonne, the global coffee price slid by US$15 per tonne from US$1,371 per tonne on March 30 to US$1,356 per tonne on March 31.
The coffee price on the domestic market also decreased by VND100,000 – 200,000 per kilogram. The price of coffee in Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Gia Lai, Kon Tum and Lam Dong provinces now hovers around VND24,300-24,500 per kilogram.
