5th provincial Week for Young Workers successful thanks to new ways

The success of the 5th provincial Week for Young Workers has affirmed the role of Youth Union in taking care of young workers’livelihooh with many new ways implemented.

Upholding the role of Youth Union

Provincial Business Bloc’s Youth Union has always paid attention to taking care of the spiritual and material lives of young workers at non-State enterprises.

Vo Hoai Van, Vice-Secretary of provincial Business Bloc’s Youth Union said that the budget to take care of young workers’ spiritual and material lives is limited, so the bloc’s Youth Union has made efforts to know and organize activities at their demands. As surveyed, young workers have paid attention to the issues of health, laws, cultural-sports activities.

In 2012, provincial Youth Federation, the Trade Union of My Phuoc Industrial Parks, enterprises and provincial Trade Promotion Center have jointly organized many significant activities and programs for young workers, including 2 programs of “Festive day for young workers”, 4 program on providing free check-ups and medicine, 2 film shows, 2 programs on reproductive health, 4 programs on legal consultancy…

The above activities and programs have further affirmed the role of Youth Union and it is also seen as a bridge between enterprises and laborers.

Pervasion

The local Youth Unions have made great progress in the organization task during the 5th provincial Week for Young Workers.

Noticeably, Di An town’s Youth Union was very successful in calling for enterprises to respond to the week, contributing to raising Youth Union members and people’s awareness of the role of young workers in socio-economic development.

The town’s Youth Union also sped up dissemination of information about the laws, including the Law on Marriage and Family, the Law on Road Traffic, the Law on Labor…, and how to prevent drug abuse and other socal evils among young workers.

In addition, the town’s Youth Union organized singing contests, classes on computer skills for young workers; set up 8 sub-unions for young workers at lodging facilities with 356 members; engaged in environmental protection activities…

Nguyen Hong Linh, Vice-Secretary of Di An town’s Youth Union said that attaching special importance to quality was the key to the above results. The town’s Youth Union has always made improvement in both content and form. In the current context, the establishment of clubs and sub-unions in line with young workers’ demand is very necessary…
