Provincial Traffic Safety Committee has recently issued a plan to implement a helmets distributing program for first graders across the province for the 2024-2025 school year. The program, themed “Keep full dreams together”, will be carried out from September to November.
First graders receiving helmets
As part of the peak month for traffic safety awareness for students returning to school, the program will combine the distribution of helmets with educational campaigns on traffic safety laws. These activities will encourage the public and parents to ensure that children will wear standard helmets when sitting in the back seat of motorcycles, mopeds, and electric bikes. Additionally, the local functional agencies will increase patrols and enforce helmet-wearing regulations for children during this peak month.
The helmet distribution program aims at raising awareness of the legal requirement for children to wear helmets that meet national technical standards when sitting in the back seat of motorcycles, mopeds and electric bikes. The program seeks to reduce the impact of traffic accidents on children, contributing to the goal of achieving a 100% compliance rate in helmet use for children by 2030.
