94 outstanding collectives, individuals of Thuan An town’s Women’s Union honored

Dang Thi Mong Huyen, Vice-Chairwoman of provincial Women’s Union awarding the certificates of merit to outstanding collectives and individuals.

Under the models of “Charity rice jar”, “Charity kitchen”…, the town’s Women’s Union mobilized donors to support more than 52,000 kg of rice and 31,000 free meals for lonely elderly people, poor patients, orphans…The local Women’s Union also helped 1,850 members get more than VND16bln in loan and maintained groups of “women helping each other in economic development” with more than 27,000 members. Under the groups, members helped each other in terms of cash, nurslings, breeding animals…with a total value of more than VND3bln. In addition, the local Women’s Union teamed up with relevant agencies to open 4 classes on cooking skills, 20 classes on sci-tech transfer with 310 participants; introduced jobs to 511 women…

On this occasion, 2 collectives and 4 individuals were awarded the certificates of merit of provincial Women’s Union for their achievements in the local women’s movements last year. Thuan An town’s People’s Committee and Women’s Union also awarded the certificates of merit to 94 outstanding collectives and individuals in 2014.
