At present, ambience of Christmas festival has become lively everywhere. According to priest Vu Khac Anh Tam of Diocese of Phu Cuong, “2012 Christmas is the year of faith, so the Catholic community welcomes Christmas in peace and joy”. All local Catholic believers have gathered to create a Christmas festival in peace and joy which will take place in the evening of Dec. 25.

Indeed, everywhere in the province has become more beautiful to welcome the 2012 Christmas. Complicated decorations have been seen not only at churches but also families.

Mixing with joy of the 2012 Christmas festival, charity deeds for the community have been launched by the Catholic believers.

Christmas gifts for children and warm festive programs have created a peaceful space for every one. Accordingly, some activities will be prolonged to cater for local people and immigrant laborers. Apart from rituals for the Catholic believers, lively music programs at churches will satisfy local people.

Priest Cao Dinh Phuong of Diocese of Phu Cuong, said “Christmas season in this year bounds for sharing by spiritual and material gifts for the unlucky”. Accordingly, Diocese of Phu Cuong has maintained and spurred charity activities such as granting 500 gifts, each including 5 kg of rice to local poor people, maintaining charity soup pot 3 times per week at the provincial general hospital, offering nearly 200 free lunches for the needy at the church.

Especially, in the 2012 Christmas season aside from granting rice bags and gifts, Diocese of Phu Cuong will strengthen more gifts worth VND150,000-200,000 to create more joys for every one.
