Bau Bang Farmers’ Society actively supports farmers in economic development

Loan support

Implementing the Resolution No.3 of the Central Committee of Vietnam Farmers’ Society on support fund development for farmers, Bau Bang district’s Farmers’ Society and its branches have actively promoted their support fund for members.

Nguyen Thi Anh Tuyet, Chairwoman of the district’s Farmers’ Society said that over the past five years, the society considered and disbursed more than VND17.1billion in loan for 942 households with difficult circumstances. So far, the society has coordinated to the Bank for Social Policies’ Bau Bang branch to provide more than VND74.34billion in loan for 4,625 households.

Over the past time, the district’s Farmers’ Society also worked with Mam Xanh Fertilizer Co., Vina Cam Fertilizer Co., Nursling World Co.Ltd., Loc Troi Fertilizer Co… to support nurslings, breeding animals and more than 835 tons of fertilizer worth more than VND1.2billion under deferred payments for members to develop home-based business.

Sci-tech transfer strengthened

Along with support in terms of loans, materials for production, the district’s Farmers’ Society has actively assisted farmers to get access to sci-tech advancements to effectively develop models over the past years. Mrs.Tuyet said that the society teamed up with relevant units to organize visits to effective farmsteads in and out of the district so that its members could learn experience in agricultural production.

Thanks to the attention and support of the society, Nguyen Thi Kim Ca residing in Lai Hung commune has successfully developed a Mokara orchid model. On average, she can earn the annual profit of around VND600million-VND650million from the model.

Such these apart, the district’s Farmers’ Society worked with provincial Department of Technology and Science (DoTS) to make consultancy on sci-tech transfer in production for farmers. According to Nguyen Binh Phuoc, Deputy Director of provincial DoTS, the society and provincial DoTS had good coordination in carrying out sci-tech transfer for farmers over the past time. A project on making know-how transfer for the growing of Taiwanese guavas for farmers in Tru Van Tho commune was a typical result for the coordination.
